The Annals of Innisfallen - Compiled by Maelsuthan O’Carroll, a monk of innisfallen, who died in 1009, and continued by various hands. This is a general history up to A.D. 439, when the history of Ireland begins, and is continued to 1318.
The War of theGaedhil with the Gaill.- The author is supposed to have been Mac Liag, ‘the chief poet of Erin’ in the time of Brian Boru. This is an account of the Danish inva- sions of Ireland from 794 to 1014. Published with a translation in 1867. 1 vol.8vo. Synchronisms, by Flann, who taught at Monasterboice; he died in 1056. An abridge-
ment of general history, containing an account of the kings of Assyria, Persia, Greece and Rome, and of the contemporary kings of Ireland, to the death of Fergal, A.D. 718, and continued by some unknown writer to A.D. 1119.
Annals of Tigernach, abbot of Clonmacnoise. He died in 1088. A general history from the earliest times to the year of his death, continued to 1409 by Augustin Mac Grady. There is no complete copy of these Annals.
The Book of Conquests - Written in the 12th century. An account of the invasions of Ireland by the early colonists. 88 pages 4to.
The Book of Hymany - Compiled in the 14th century. It contains the pedigrees of irish families, poems, and an Irish translation of neddius. This last was published, with a trans- lation, in 1847. 386 pages folio.
Topographical Poems - By O’Dubhagain and O’Huidhrin, written in the 14th century. The Irish text with a translation was published in 1862. 1 vol.8vo.
The Book of Lecan - Compiled by Gilla Isa MacFirbis in 1416. Its contents are nearly the same as those of the Book of Ballymote. It contains also an account of the territory and the tribes of Tir Fiachrach of the Moy, which was published with a translation in 1844. I vol. 8vo. Over 600 pages folio.
